Humanist Celebrant
Marking the transitions in your life
Birth, marriage and death are the three most significant points in any life and should be celebrated in a way which is unique to you and your family.
Traditional civil and religious ceremonies follow a set pattern and are restricted to certain locations. If you want to formally welcome your new baby outside of a church, get married outdoors or mark the passing of a loved one in a respectful and secular way, it can feel that the ‘rules’ laid down are obstacles to the day of your choice.
This is where a humanist celebrant can help.
Everything you want and nothing that you don’t
Humanist celebrations are non-religious and tailored to your specific needs. We will work together to arrange the perfect ceremony in the location of your choosing and matching your personal style. I want the day to be right for you – not right according to someone else’s rules.
By getting to know you and those most involved in the event I can make sure the day sets the right tone and is memorable for all the right reasons.
Together we will:
Agree the way the ceremony will run
Select readings, music and other activities
Involve friends and family members in the right way
Create an inspiring, uplifting and memorable experience
‘We found Katharine to be warm, professional and calm – she presented our ceremony in a truly unique and genuine way’.
Tailored to you:
Baby naming and welcoming events
Weddings, handfasting and non-religious blessings
Funerals, memorials and thanksgivings
‘There are not enough ways for us to thank you for everything you did on Lachlan’s Naming Day, you were incredible. We were overwhelmed by how personal you made the service and we’ve received so many comments from our guests about the amazing job you did.
Thank you.’

‘I loved your warmth, your voice, your humanity. I held my breath when you did the ‘tying the knot’ because I thought it might not work – but when it did it was delightful!’
‘Katharine was a fantastic celebrant, and really helped guide us through the process. Before the ceremony she took a genuine interest in our life stories, and when the day arrived delivered the service in a really engaging style, explaining the humanist ethos in an approachable fashion. The wedding guests were impressed with the way Katharine struck the balance between being down-to-earth and funny but professional and formal at the same time. She was also great at helping to calm wedding nerves!’

‘Such a beautiful eloquent ceremony, written and delivered with passion, grace and poise.’
